Participants are advised that there is no internet connection in the lake and telephone signal is very poor and intermittent.
There is a small local community in Mamori Lake, scattered in small family properties around the lake, as well as a central communal area. They live mostly on the local resources of the area, with fishing as one of their main activities. All people hired by AAVS Amazon belong to this community and one of the main aims of the organization is to keep a constant feedback interaction with them. To this effect, AAVS Amazon will organise occasional educational activities with the community, public presentations of the results of the workshop, and even a soccer game.
